An example of an artifact would be the olympic five gold rings.

For years starting in 1896 in Athens, the Olympics have brought together to world in hopes of peace and equality. The Olympic Rings are said to represent the continents, Americas, Australia, Europe, Africa and Asia. The one responsible for the designing of the rings was Baron Pierre de Coubertin.
He said, "The emblem chosen to illustrate and represent the world Congress of 1914, five intertwined rings in different colors - blue, yellow, black, green, red - are placed on the white field of the paper. These five rings represent the five parts of the world which now are won over to Olympism and willing to accept healthy competition."
The Olympic rings were first introduced in 1920 at the summer Olympics and since then they have been an important artifact in world history.
It looks like you have a nice start to your blog! I agree with you that many people seem to have this obsession with reality TV. Do you think it is because we want to see how other people live their lives or because we want to feel as though we aren't as dysfunctional as the people on the shows? My opinion is the latter to a great extent. Then there are the reality shows where we want to see somebody achieve something that we can say to ourselves “if I had the chance I could do that too!” In both cases I think people use reality TV shows as a form of therapy.
